What do I do when my business feels stuck?

Been there. Done that. Like a gazillion times...that’s the entrepreneur life for you. If you’re reading this you may feel like you’re in this rut. The rut I know all too well. It includes low sales, doubt and confusion.

Why isn’t this selling?

What is happening to my business?

Should I even be in business?

STOP. Those thoughts aren’t going to do any good. You should be thinking...

What can I do to change this?

How can I improve my business?

Is there anyone I could ask for suggestions?

Change your mind set. Change your life. Most importantly, NEVER GIVE UP! You are good enough so don’t doubt yourself. Now that your daily encouragement is out of the way, let’s get down to business. What to do when you feel stuck in your business??

1.) Don’t give up.

If you give up, you’ll never succeed. There have been numerous times in the first 3 years of Bella Noelle where I thought “What in the world am I doing?” I actually depleted my teenager savings getting this business off the ground. I got down to $27 in my back account. Not even kidding. I’ve always been a huge saver and super money conscious so that was a scary time for me, but you know what? I never gave up. I looked back at my statements and saw where I was spending money, not getting a return on that investment. Then, I cut it off. Cold turkey. Point blank. Period.

2.) Stay focused.

You won’t be able to do everything at once. At one point (for a very short period) our shop contained: bows, headbands, pacifier clips, teething toys, teething necklaces, hair ties and shirts. Not my brightest idea. I spread myself way too thin and had my eggs in too many baskets. It cost me tons, spread me thin and stressed me out. Stick to your niche. Choose one or two things and focus in on them. You can do them all, but you can’t do them all at 100%.

3.) Engage with others.

The last thing you probably want to do when your last post on Instagram got 6 likes is go and like a bunch of peoples posts that got 100+ likes, but trust me-Instagram knows. Their crazy algorithm knows you and how you interact with other accounts. The more you interact with others, the better off your account will be. It also feels REALLY good to not focus on yourself and focus on giving others a like or a nice compliment.

4.) Add more products.

Like I said above stay focused. Don’t go adding a million new items in the hopes of getting someone’s attention. Stay true to what your brand is, but create something new. For example, if your thing is bows don’t go out and start adding make-up to your shop just to make a quick buck. Add a new style of bow or even headband. It’s okay to expand, just stay focused.

5.) Run a sale or giveaway.

Giveaways and sales can be a great way to give back to your customers AND help increase your own following/engagement and/or sales. Don’t do them all the time because they can get to be too much, but every once in awhile it helps.

That’s about everything I got folks! Hope that helps get you out of the entrepreneur rut and gives you some great starting points.

Good luck and go kill it! 🔥
